The CCDW are very excited to have Nancy Litton, executive director of The Community Free Clinic of Cabarrus County speak to us about women’s health issues, the specific health care problems we face in Cabarrus County and ways you can help! Dinner is $10 buffet (plus tax and tip) starting at 6:30.
Please feel free to bring donation items the clinic needs: This includes money, bus passes and the items found here: https://communityfreeclinic.org/donate/our-supply-wish-list
Nancy has worked for the clinic since 2017 and has been a resident of Cabarrus county for over 20 years. According to their website, in her new role as executive director, Nancy is “here to hear your interests for our clinic, to explore expansion, to look for improvement and search out dollars to grow our services for those we serve. And I am here to support you who provide those services – whether in the clinic, as a partner or as a contributor. ”
About the Clinic: Retired physicians, Dr. George Liles and Dr. David Lockhart, founded the Community Free Clinic in 1994 in an effort to provide the un-insured residents of Cabarrus County access to free healthcare and medications. Since then, the Clinic has outgrown three locations and is presently located at 528 A Lake Concord Road. The Clinic began with volunteer physicians seeing patients during a Night Clinic Program two nights a week. Currently, the Clinic has full time and part time staff, hundreds of volunteers including physicians, nurses, pharmacists, lab technicians, and many more. Even though the Clinic has gone through many changes over the years, the mission has always been the same “Keeping People Healthy”.
